InvoiceDistrict is operated by Mogomotsi Hawk Dingalo, a sole proprietor trading as "InvoiceDistrict" ("we", "us"). We act as the data controller for personal data we collect about account holders, and as a data processor for the personal data you upload into the service about your own clients. This page explains what we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and your rights.
What we collect
- Account data: name, email address, business name, password hash, authentication identifiers.
- Workspace data: the invoices, clients, reminders and notes you choose to enter into the service.
- Support data: messages you send us via support, contact or feedback forms.
- Usage data: device type, IP address, page views, feature interactions and basic telemetry used to keep the service secure and to improve it.
Why we use it
We use this data to create and operate your account (contract performance), to provide customer support (legitimate interests and contract performance), to keep the service secure and detect fraud (legitimate interests and legal obligation), to improve the product (legitimate interests), and to send essential service emails. Marketing emails are sent only with your consent and you can opt out at any time.
Who we share it with
- Service providers / sub-processors: hosting, database, email delivery and analytics providers used to operate InvoiceDistrict.
- PayPal (payment processor): when you purchase a subscription, payment and recurring billing are handled by PayPal. PayPal receives the personal data necessary to process the sale (name, email, billing details, payment method). See PayPal's Privacy Statement.
- Professional advisers (legal, accounting) where necessary.
- Authorities where required to do so by law.
We do not sell your personal data.
Retention
We retain account and workspace data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account we delete or anonymise the underlying data within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain it to comply with a legal obligation, resolve disputes or enforce our agreements.
Security
We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit, access controls and audit logging. No internet service is perfectly secure; if we ever become aware of a breach affecting your data we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.
Cookies
We use minimal first-party storage and strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences, and limited first-party analytics cookies to understand aggregated product usage. We do not use third-party advertising trackers. Where required by law, we will ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies and you can manage your preferences at any time from the cookie banner.
International transfers
Some of our service providers process data outside the UK and EEA. Where this happens we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or applicable adequacy decisions.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or port your personal data, to object to processing, or to withdraw consent.
