Is there a free trial on paid plans?
No paid-plan trial — you buy and use it immediately, or stay on the permanent Free plan (3 active invoices, email reminders). Cancel anytime, and we back paid plans with a 90-day money-back guarantee.
How does the AI work — is it safe?
Every reminder is drafted by AI in your tone, but you approve before anything sends. Think of it as a smart assistant, not an autonomous bot. You control the schedule, the tone ladder, and the final send. Nothing goes out without your sign-off.
What happens when a client replies or pays?
The sequence pauses automatically. We detect replies and payment confirmations and stop chasing — so you never accidentally spam a client who's already responded.
Can I import my existing invoices?
Yes. Connect Stripe, Xero, QuickBooks, or FreshBooks and your overdue invoices flow in automatically. CSV import is also supported. You can be running recovery sequences within an hour.
What counts as an 'active' invoice?
An invoice in any reminder sequence — pending, overdue, or in-progress. Once it's marked paid (or you archive it), it no longer counts toward your monthly limit.
What happens if I go over my plan limit?
Nothing breaks. We email you, queue any extra invoices in a soft hold, and you can either upgrade in one click or wait for the next billing cycle. We never auto-charge overage fees without asking.
Is there a setup fee or contract?
No. No setup fee, no minimum term, no annual lock-in. Monthly plans are month-to-month. Annual plans save 15% and you can still cancel — we refund the unused portion.
How does the 90-day money-back guarantee work?
If InvoiceDistrict hasn't paid for itself in recovered invoices within 90 days of your first paid charge, email support@invoicedistrict.com and we refund 100%. No questions, no 'cancellation specialist' call. We only want customers who recover real money.
Is my data secure?
We use Lovable Cloud (row-level security, encryption in transit and at rest), and never share your data. Card payments are handled by our payment provider — we never see card numbers. We are not currently SOC-2 or PCI-DSS audited as an organization.
Do you handle debt collection or legal notices?
No — we do credit control, not debt collection. We send polite, AI-assisted, on-brand reminders under your name. If you need formal collection, we can connect you with partners, but InvoiceDistrict itself stays relationship-safe.
Do SMS and WhatsApp messages cost extra?
Each plan includes a generous monthly allowance (Starter: 100 SMS, Growth: 500 SMS + 500 WhatsApp, Business: custom). Beyond that, we pass through the carrier cost at-cost — no markup. You'll always see usage in your dashboard before you exceed it.
Can I switch plans later?
Yes — upgrade or downgrade anytime from Settings → Billing. We prorate the difference automatically. Most teams start on Starter and move to Growth once they cross ~30 invoices/month or add a second user.
